In January 2024, The Pony Factory was released on Steam. This is a new game by indie developer David Szymanski, created in collaboration with John Szymanski.
David Szymanski is known for DUSK, Chop Goblins, Squirrel Stapler, Iron Lung. His games stand out in style compared to many other projects. He likes to add various references to his work, but with The Pony Factory (it seems) he went a little overboard.
He waited a couple of weeks and decided to reach out to the community. David Szymanski himself revealed one of the secrets of The Pony Factory. There is a note in the game dedicated to someone “The Maximalist Enhanced Fire Rate Module”.
The developer wrote on the social network:
«I don't think anyone recognized this reference in The Pony Factory.
This might be the most niche thing I've ever referenced“.
And he published a video dedicated to the USFA ZiP 22 weapon model – this is an unusual pistol.
Judging by the reaction of players in The Pony Factory, someone still knew about the existence of ZiP .22, but did not realize that this was what David Szymanski was referring to.
