VK will close the application

VK reported that the ICQ messenger will stop working on June 26th. Those who used the application were offered an alternative: «VK Messenger» for friends and «VK WorkSpace» for communication with colleagues.

The company reported that employees of the ICQ division will join the product teams of «VK Messenger» and «VK «WorkSpace». ICQ has been part of VK's asset portfolio since 2010, when it was purchased from AOL for $187.5 million. The messenger underwent its last major update in 2020. Well, that same legendary «Aska» ceased to exist back in 2018.
