It reduces lag in games
AMD is preparing to return the Anti-Lag+ feature, which it disabled several months ago due to problems with a number of games.
There are no details about the timing yet, but the company’s top manager Frank Azor, who is responsible for the gaming direction at AMD, wrote about the return.
Recall that Anti-Lag+ debuted about six months ago as part of a major update to the AMD graphics driver. The technology allows you to reduce delays in games. The problem is that she does this in a very specific way. Anti-Lag+ bypasses the DLL functions of the game engine, apparently to reduce delays, which is perceived by various anti-cheat programs in games as a way to bypass these same programs. In particular, almost immediately after launch, players began receiving VAC bans in Counter Strike 2, then similar problems became known in other competitive games, and as a result, AMD disabled the function.
Given that they are going to return it, apparently the company changed the principle of operation so that Anti-Lag+ no longer seems suspicious to security programs.
