The electric minivan LEVC L380 from the Geely Group, which was named after the large Airbus A380 passenger airliner, is already accepting pre-orders in China. Sales of this 5.3-meter car will begin soon. Moreover, it will enter the UK market in the next two years.
LEVC — This is the London Electric Vehicle Company, the successor to the famous British company London Taxi Company, founded in 1919. The British taxi maker was acquired by Geely Group in 2012 and has focused on producing BEVs (electric vehicles) and EREVs (extended range electric vehicles). By December 2023, LEVC vehicles accounted for over 50% of all licensed taxis in London. The LEVC range currently consists of one car called the TX. Soon the line of the ex-British brand will be replenished with the LEVC L380 minivan.
Mass production of LEVC L380 started at the beginning of the year at the LEVC New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. plant. The same plant produces LEVC TX. It is a large minivan based on the SOA commercial vehicle architecture, derived from the Geely SEA platform. Its dimensions are 5316 x 1998 x 1940 mm, with a wheelbase of 3185 mm. The L380 has up to 8 seats in a 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 configuration.
The power reserve can range from 570 to 785 km. The car received two electric motors with a power of 400 kW, the maximum speed is 180 km/h. The L380 can charge 200 km in 10 minutes. It will take 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
