Information about the animal transported on the train will now be displayed in the conductor’s mobile device, which was not the case before.
«We plan to personalize the transportation of animals to some extent so that we can more clearly understand who we are transporting. At the moment this is not in our documents», — explained the company’s deputy general director Ivan Kolesnikov.
«Federal Passenger Company» (a subsidiary of Russian Railways) is improving information systems, as stated by FPC General Director Vladimir Pyastolov during a round table in the State Duma on the topic «Rules for transporting pets by public transport».
We are currently working on finalizing the information systems; they will take a little time. But we already see that it is necessary to indicate the type of animal when issuing a ticket, display this information in the conductor’s mobile device, this is also technically possible. And the conductor will check, clearly understanding what kind of animal is traveling in his carriage. This is not currently available.
