Ownership transferred to a Russian insurance company

Press service of the Aeroflot group reported that between January 16 and February 15, 2024, the airline completed the resolution process for seven aircraft with two groups of lessors. Agreements for these transactions were concluded at the end of 2023, and technical milestones were completed in 2024.

In accordance with the agreements reached, foreign lessors ceased their claims against the Russian parties in respect of seven aircraft, both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements with Aeroflot. Ownership of the aircraft transferred to the insurance company LLC „NSK“», which paid the settlement amounts.

The press service also noted that the Aeroflot group continues negotiations on the settlement of existing claims with other lessors of foreign-made aircraft. Earlier, at the end of December last year, «Aeroflot» also successfully resolved the issue with several groups of foreign lessors regarding 28 aircraft. After the purchase and re-registration of foreign airliners in Russia, they can be used on flights outside the country without the risk of arrest.
