The Carscoops resource shared details about the brand new Chery pickup truck. It is still unknown what the car will be called, but a high-quality image has already appeared: the car attracts attention with an unusual part, where the «diamond» the headlights smoothly flow into the radiator grille with a voluminous diamond-shaped pattern. Very bold design for a «workhorse».
At the corners of the front bumper – unusual diagonal inserts. But the sides are generally traditional, except that at the back you can note the stamping, which turns into lights with an interesting pattern.
There are already images of the interior: everything here is much more traditional. Inside, the pickup looks like a regular crossover. The equipment will include two 10.25-inch displays: one as part of the digital instrument panel, the other – as part of the media system. Some interior elements will be borrowed from the Omoda C5 crossover. In terms of equipment, the pickup will also be similar to the crossover: it will receive wireless charging for a smartphone, atmospheric lighting, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless interfaces, an all-round viewing system, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, and a set of driver assistance systems.
Important: the pickup will be a frame one, and not with a monocoque body, like the Hyundai Santa Cruz. What kind of engines will they be – unknown. But given that the pickup truck will be sold in a variety of markets (Asia-Pacific region, South America and Europe, taking into account Chery’s position in the domestic market – and in Russia too), the engines can be different: purely gasoline (for example, 2 .0-liter turbocharged), hybrid (based on a 1.5-liter engine like the Jetour Traveler) and purely electric (for example, with two engines with a total power of 473 hp like the Exeed Sterra).
The pickup will be mid-size, which means it will enter the most saturated and competitive segment, where there are Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Isuzu D-Max, Mitsubishi L200, Volkswagen Amarok, GWM Cannon , Geely Radar RD6, Dongfeng Rich 6 EV and many others.
More details about the new product are expected in the coming months, and the car should go on sale in early 2025.
