It allows you to equip mining dump trucks, originally designed for human control, with an unmanned system
Company «Digital Robotics» has developed, according to her, the first solution in Russia for the robotization of mining dump trucks. The system allows you to robotize existing machines that are not equipped with a factory unmanned system.
Decision from «Digital Robotics» includes a set of controllers and sensors for retrofitting machines originally designed for human control. This way they can be prepared for work without a driver in the cab — in autonomous or remotely controlled mode, without the need to involve a mining equipment manufacturer.
According to the company, the main value of the development is that it allows you to build an autonomous cargo transportation system using an existing transport fleet, rather than purchasing new expensive unmanned equipment for robotization of the quarry. The solution is also suitable for those dump trucks that have been in use for a long time — not new, but serviceable; this way they will last for several more years.
The first project of robotization of mining dump trucks «Digital Robotics» intends to finish in the summer of 2024. Future plans — development of similar solutions for equipment used in underground mining.
