If in Europe they ask for more than 56 thousand euros for the same car, the price in China starts from 32 thousand dollars
The FAW–Volkswagen joint venture has officially launched the spacious liftback ID on the Chinese market. 7 VIZZION – it's being touted as an electric replacement for the Volkswagen Passat.
In China, a car in the basic single-engine version is priced at 32 thousand dollars – it turned out to be almost half the price than in Germany (from 56.9 thousand euros). Such a low price in China is partly due to very strong competition in the local market. For example, for 37.5 thousand dollars in China you can already buy a Tesla Model Y crossover, and for 35.1 thousand dollars you can buy a 7-seater crossover BYD Tang EV.
The liftback is currently on the market as a single-engine version with a power of 204 hp. and a power reserve of 642 km (the capacity of the traction battery is 84.8 kW·h). There will also be an all-wheel drive option with a slightly shorter range – 570 km.
The car received various driver assistance systems (for example, an auto braking system and a parking assist system), a projection screen with support for augmented reality, a large panoramic roof, a Harman Kardon sound system with 16 speakers, a digital instrument panel and 15- inch screen with 2K resolution on the front panel.
In the Chinese electric vehicle market, Volkswagen has a share of only 4% despite a fairly large model range. Naturally, the company hopes that ID. 7 VIZZION will improve the situation somewhat.
