A video has appeared on the Internet in which a Li Auto car is driving along a highway at high speed, with no one in the driver’s seat, and a child without a seat belt in the passenger seat.
The incident sparked intense criticism from Chinese netizens. Manufacturer Li Auto has publicly condemned this behavior, stating that at this stage the system uses driving assistance rather than automatic driving, and such driver actions are very dangerous.
During the May holidays, Li Auto vehicles covered 35.7 million kilometers using a high-end intelligent driver assistance system, of which NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) accounted for 24.6 million km. 309,000 people, including the alleged driver in the video, used the system on lidar-equipped models during the holiday. The mileage increased by 126.8% compared to normal time, and the longest one-day distance was more than 1800 km.
The total mileage was 295 million kilometers. Of these, 153 million kilometers were driven using the battery, which is 11.6% higher than normal. However, fuel mileage increased by 149.5% to account for the remaining 141 million kilometers. 391 Li Auto charging stations have been used more than 96,000 times (including use by other brands), and the average charging time for Li Mega was 12.8 minutes.
On May 5, more than 10,000 Li L6 models were sold, and the total number of models sold from April 18 to May 5 was more than 41,000.
