If previously the price of BYD Dolphin started at 16.2 thousand dollars, now the price of the basic version is only 13.9 thousand dollars
Having released the Destroyer 05 Honor Edition hybrid sedan for $11,000 this week, BYD started a price war in the mid-size hybrid segment: after the announcement, many competitors began to reduce prices on their cars. And now BYD has introduced a new version of the Dolphin electric hatchback, and it has also become cheaper (and the equipment has improved).
If previously the price of BYD Dolphin started at 16.2 thousand dollars, now the price of the basic version — only 13.9 thousand dollars: a package called Vitality includes an electric motor with a power of 95 hp. and a traction battery with a capacity of 32 kW·h, which provides a range of up to 302 km.
The Free version has the same motor, but a larger traction battery – capacity 45 kW·h. Accordingly, the power reserve is greater — 420 km. The price of this option — 15.67 thousand dollars. The Fashion package has the same characteristics, but the equipment is better, and the price — 16.65 thousand dollars. At the top of the range is the Knight version for $18,000: 177 hp. and 401 km on one charge.
Externally, the hatchback has not changed; the dimensions remain the same (4125 x 1770 x 1570 mm with a wheelbase length of 2700 mm). Innovations in terms of equipment — The steering wheel is adjustable in four directions, the front seats are not only heated, but also have two-stage ventilation, curtains on the rear windows, wireless power charging for a smartphone, USB-A and USB-C ports. The rear suspension has also changed — it is an independent four-link. Previously, many Dolphin owners complained about the insufficiently comfortable suspension.
