A 13-year-old boy from the United States has become the first person in history to successfully complete the final level of the iconic Soviet video game Tetris, 40 years after its invention by engineer Alexei Pajitnov. Willis Gibson posted a video on his YouTube channel where he reaches level 157 of the game, after which the game stops, throws an error and freezes. It only took him 38 minutes to reach level 157, which is apparently the last level when blocks stop falling and the game freezes.

The game “Tetris” gained worldwide fame five years after its invention in the USSR. The player arranges falling “building blocks” into horizontal lines, and when an even row is formed with no gaps, it disappears and points are awarded. In 1989, the game was released on Nintendo, including the Game Boy portable console. The game is now available on game consoles, computers, tablets and mobile phones. Over the years, gamers have developed various methods of playing Tetris, including the hypertapping technique, which allows you to press buttons on the controller faster. This technique has been successfully used at the world championships in classic Tetris since 2018. However, until recently, only artificial intelligence could reach level 157, which is where the game stopped.
